Job Description:

The Florida Department of Legal Affairs, Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is looking for a Applications Development Analyst focused on the delivery and implementation of enterprise solutions for OAG business units. The Contractor will spend most of the time consulting directly with our business units and application development team developing line of business solutions. The Contractor will have the opportunity to work with the Microsoft technologies and solutions in enterprise-level environments.

The ideal candidate will effectively communicate requirements in technical discussions with developers, clients, management, and vendors to ensure the smooth operation of systems and deliver customized solutions for the OAG. This position is on-site but may be allowed to work remote.

Description

  • Elicit detailed functional / business requirements from users and sponsors.
  • Create and communicate detailed requirements, solution proposals, business process designs (BPD) and business system designs (BSD) that meet the business needs
  • Work on the OAG PALM Transition Project and the Legal Matters Management System Project.
  • Work with developers to understand the designs and validate that the software solution will satisfy the business needs.
  • Conduct functional testing of implemented applications and provide the initial support of these applications when moved to production.
  • Create and deliver documentation as necessary to ensure proper use of changed and newly implemented processes.
  • Recommend changes that support business processes.
  • Assist the Program Manager in status reporting and project milestone tracking.
  • Assist in coordinating project activities and deliverables across other team members.
  • Effectively plan and conduct transition activities of newly implemented functionality to appropriate teams
  • Provide post-implementation support.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Direct experience with enterprise applications
  • Ability to document “As Is” processes and work with Business units to develop “To Be” processes
  • Ability to work with Business teams to gather and understand detailed functional requirements
  • Ability to work closely with IT teams to ensure designs are aligned with Business objectives
  • Assist in converting requirements into designs / configurations for testing, review and implementation plans with the Program Manager, Business groups, user groups
  • Provide post-implementation support for implemented solutions
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous exposure to IBM Notes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Business Analyst role.
  • Previous experience with enterprise systems.
  • Good understanding of documenting business processes.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills in terms of project management, meeting facilitation and definition of solutions with the business.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to articulate business solutions, and communicate effectively with technical teams to develop and configure solutions.
  • Strong competency in basic Microsoft 365 applications as well as Visio, Access, and MS Project
